الاستقلال، درس لكل المغاربة، في أبرز معانيه، رسالة لكل الأجيال مفادها أننا قادرون على التغيير وعلى مزاحمة الأقدار بالأقدار، وبأن المغاربة في وحدتهم يستطيعون كسر كل الحواجز وإفشال كل المخططات المعادية لمصالحهم ووحدتهم الحضارية في شموليتها، بما هي وحدة ترابية وثقافية واجتماعية.
الإستقلال معركة خاضها جيل مضى، من أجل وطن لا يخضع للقوى الخارجية، هو ذكرى يحييها الشعب في كل سنة، ليؤكد أنه يمضى على نفس الدرب، درب الحفاظ على استقلالية الوطن وسلامته من كل استغلال أجنبي أو هيمنة خارجية، هو وعد للمضي بنًفًسٍ لا ينقطع في المعركة الكبرى التي أعلن عنها الملك الراحل محمد الخامس، معركة الجهاد الأكبر، معركة التنمية والتحديث، معركة الحكامة المؤسساتية والدمقرطة السياسية.
